Updates & Patch Notes
MIO: Memories in Orbit launched worldwide on January 20, 2026. Since then, Focus Entertainment and Douze Dixièmes have shipped post-launch patches focused on soft/hard lock fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and combat balance. This page summarizes the changes that matter most for players and guide writers.
No DLC yet: As of mid-2026, there is no announced downloadable content expansion. Support has focused on the base game. Check official Steam news and the Focus community hub for the latest announcements.

Patch 2 — March 12, 2026
Focus: progression locks, soft locks, elevators, and balance tweaks. Full notes are also documented on community wikis such as mio.wiki.gg.
Hard Lock Fixes
- Fixed a case where dying on Anra after opening a door (and quitting after Halyn's cutscene without a checkpoint) could soft/hard lock progress.
- Fixed accessing the Vault without Flowing Striders and becoming stuck after taking a checkpoint.
Soft Lock & Encounter Fixes
- Fixed reaching the big fly arena without the hook.
- Fixed soft locks on certain flashback platforms.
- Fixed Ancile & Targa disappearing and trapping the player in the room.
- Fixed an invisible killzone in the Promenade.
- Fixed elevators, Flowing Steps behavior, pearls in The Pit, Flora's corpse, Goliath disappearing, and Plums vanishing during the Saw Long chase.
- Corrected Mel's name display at the ending.
QoL & Balance
- Elevators unlock automatically after the first encounter with Halyn.
- Added "unsafe" zones to reduce death loops that blocked respawns.
- Balance adjustments to perfect Sharpened Hairpin and to negative modifiers.
- Keyboard fixes for Flowing Striders.
- Promenade Overseer relocated.
- Added the holographic planet presentation to the true ending.
Patch 1.2 — February 6, 2026
First major post-launch update: combat clarity, assist reliability, and level-design polish. Official announcement: Focus community Patch 1.2 post.
Bug Fixes
- Fourth tremor no longer triggers too early.
- Boss assist ("Eroded Bosses") now works correctly across more boss + checkpoint combinations.
- Fixed HUD feedback for the Hand's Greed modifier.
- Fixed invisible trapdoor after Dr Halyn, invisible ceilings, and lootable Nacre through ceilings in Foundations.
- Fixed Calderon's missing corpse, shuttle shaft collider mismatches, and Capucine statue dialogues.
Gameplay & Combat
- Improved attack direction selection for d-pad and keyboard (fewer pogo misses).
- Hand's Greed now also uses decayed health (tremor) as an extra damage boost source.
- Hitbox tweaks for the FRIENDS fight; armor tuning for Shii during certain animations.
- Damage upgrades now apply to scrap pile attacks.
Balance, Levels & QoL
- Sawlong ending section made slightly less punishing; some Pit health bars removed.
- Low-health feedback removed during the Khlia sequence.
- Striders tutorial alternate path removed; Chapel entrance shortcut adjusted to avoid skipping the level by mistake.
- Metropolis entrance allows escaping after sequence breaks; respawn zones in Metropolis gauntlets tweaked.
- Sol & Vin elevator and Shuttles speed up after first attempts / after meeting Halyn.
- Shorter input lock on checkpoint after death; camera improvements during the Vlad fight.
What Changed for Guides & Builds
- Builds: Perfect Sharpened Hairpin and negative modifiers were rebalanced in Patch 2—treat older "glass cannon" advice with a bit more caution and test your loadout after updating.
- Hand's Greed: Patch 1.2 made tremor/decayed health part of its damage formula—more relevant for aggressive late-game setups.
- Assists: Eroded Bosses reliability improved—full guide on the Assists page.
- True Ending: Patch 2 adds holographic planet presentation; progression soft locks around Vaults / Flowing Striders were fixed—fewer "stuck forever" reports if you are on the latest build.
