How to reach Celestial Bay

Celestial Bay is an optional area at the very top of the map. From the room where you got Asma's Voice (above Nexus), climb above the left-side door, then glide to the platforms on the right. Follow the path to reach Celestial Bay. Unlocks the "Déjà Vu" trophy. You can find an Overseer (fast travel) and the Orphaned Shoe (one of 7 Curios) there.

How to reach The Crucible

The Crucible is required for the True Ending. Find the Severed Fingertip in the pit beneath the Vaults (where The Hand first grabbed you—drop into that pit and head far east). Take it to The Wheel in the Redacted Lab and use it to repair the broken mechanical hand. Solve The Wheel puzzle (positions 0, 120, 240) and set the wheel to 240 to access The Crucible. Complete two hard platforming challenges to get Flowing Steps.

How to reach The Pit

The Pit is at the very bottom of the map. First find all 6 Fragmented Serial Numbers to unlock the Manufactory. At the end of the Manufactory you'll find the door to The Pit—it only opens if you have the Defective Core modifier equipped. You get Defective Core by finding all 12 Candles and taking them to Asma above the Nexus.

How to save Mel

Mel disappears from the Nexus later in the game. To save him, go to the Vaults: through the drawer in the large room, activate the pumps, and at the end jump down the pipe. Defeat Dr Halyn's Collector there—this rescues Mel and unlocks the "Rescued" trophy. After saving him, Mel will sell an additional item needed for the "Out Of Stock" trophy.

How to unlock the map

The game does not give you a map at the start. You unlock the map function later through story progression. Once unlocked, new routes you explore won't appear on the map until you return to a Network Gate (save point). This encourages careful exploration and memory.
